That is funny, you call it a hippie square, lol. I am making one with lots of funky colors as a memory piece, so once I get done cleaning, I can hopefully finish it tonight.
My Grandma called the sandwich bread that was longer and more square "pan bread". Our smaller loaves in the States do not have that square shape. Very interesting subject since her Mom's parents migrated from Ireland. By the way... I love the fresh colors in this block. They are gorgeous!!
